The Raven Report has donated R1000 to help get Xavier Cornelius, our South African National MMA Featherweight Champ to Georgia to represent the nation in the Worlds Championships over there.

And we would like to invite all our other national sports champs like the Springboks, Bafana Bafana, Dricus du Plessis and all other sporting code heroes, as well as Joe and Jane Public to make a contribution on Xaviers’s BackaBuddy page.

Every cent helps. Below is a detailed and transparent budget for what the money will be used. The fund-raising effort will stop as soon as the target of just under R300k is reached. Xavier's support team consists of his mom and dad, coach and assistant coach. So, including Xavier, its a team of 5 people traveling.

Since The Raven Report broke the story with our exclusive interview with the Champ, Xavier has been busy. He has a new coach, and he has being doing the rounds with local celebs to raise awareness, and of course we know they're going to come to the party with the fundraising effort.

Chantal Cornelius, Xavier’s mum, who is managing the fund, asked me to say thank you to the Cape Town Mayoral fund for their donation of R10k.

The Worlds event will be held in Tbilisi (pronounced as tuh·buh·lee·see) in Georgia where it is being billed as The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) 2026 World Championships, from November 1 to November 7, 2026.

And besides getting into peek condition to hand out a few cans of whipass at the event, Xavier and his team have to sort out the very demanding logistics of getting there, and as you can see from the budget it is very time consuming.

So help him to alleviate the stress of having to run around looking for funding, by dropping in some coin in the online fund.

THE XAVIER CORNELIUS FUND RAISING DONATION TRACKER BELOW WILL UPDATED DAILY AT RANDOM INTERVALS. PLEASE NOTE YOUR DONATION MAY TAKE UP TO 24 HOURS TO REFLECT.

My bru, you mos gevaalik jong, jaasie, well done man. I'm so proud of you Xavier. But look here, I thought Georgia is there in trumpland where the peaches that bierber sings about comes from. But now I see its there other side close to putinville. So I googled 'n bietjie and look what their national dish is - Georgia's national dish is Khachapuri, a gooey, cheese-filled bread. In Tbilisi, the most famous variation is Adjaruli Khachapuri—an oven-baked, boat-shaped dough filled with melted cheese, butter, and a raw egg that you mix at the table. Equally popular is Khinkali, giant, juicy meat-stuffed soup dumplings. So now, obviously, I want you to try some nuh, and then tell us what it was like. But, but, first bliksem them lekker nuh, and bring back the World Title. Good luck bother!

Ja Gayton, I wonder what Tata Madiba would have done! We can't even send our own children, NATIONAL CHAMPIONS, to go represent us. Naai bruh, this kak is not on.

It's a bloody disgrace and national embarrassment that a NATIONAL CHAMPION has to go around with a begging bowl to REPRESENT HIS COUNTRY. Gayton, kry jy nie skaam nie? Sies man, ko reg, is 2026. Let's get this champ on that midnight plane to Georgia, sorrie Gladys Knight ennie Pips.

Awesome stuff. I've got goosebumps, go Xavier, make us proud. And I'm glad you've been transparent and real with the budget, when i saw your initial target of R70k, I though, are you guys going to swim to Georgia? Flights alone are ridiculously expensive, especially with the exchange rate, and I hear a BigMac over there costs R400. I really hope R300k will be enough. Great initiative! Xavier and the team deserve all the support and encouragement he can get!
